Victoria Holroyd, PhD, LPC, LMHC, NCC, ACS
she/her/hers
I am a therapist in Falls Church, VA, having worked in mental health since 1993. My primary focus is transgender mental health.
Specifically, my work centers around the intersectionality of gender diverse and autistic/neurodiverse (A/ND-GD) children, youths and adults, individuals with intersex conditions and differences in sexual development including sexuality and trauma.
I provide individual and family therapy, and work with couples with an LGBTQ partner(s) to help explore and support loved ones as they navigate the emotions and logistics surrounding families in transition. I actively listen to the narratives and perspectives that each family member has, and work diligently to help bridge common goals and treatment planning to reduce anxiety through psychoeducation, evidenced-based practices and the latest research surrounding gender identity.
I provide consultation for parents of gender-diverse children and teens, connect clients and their families to adjunct supports and write opinions for court cases surrounding gender identity.
I am highly collaborative and utilize an interdisciplinary team approach through established local and national providers who specialize in LGBTQ-affirming general medical care, endocrinology, psychiatric care, neuropsychological testing, and legal services.
I provide thorough psychological evaluations and assessments for transgender and non-binary clients seeking gender-confirming medical and surgical care. I follow the Standards of Care, Version 7 from WPATH, informed consent models, and work closely with clients in providing the documentation they need to support their treatment goals.
I collaborate with a network of professionals and peer support groups to support clients to include couples and group therapy, legal services, surgery, voice coaching/training, hair removal, binder exchange, and more.

I approach my work from these beliefs:
All of life’s pain is born of loss–not just death, but a metaphorical death. The loss of love, loved ones, friendship, marriage, job, health, confidence, self-esteem, hope, life as we once knew it.
Therapy should be active and solution-focused, with a definite ending.
Healing begins with someone who will truly listen.
Sustainable, positive change takes time. It is oh-so-subtle and happens over time.
